This Month’s Program: Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary and Bat Night Fundraiser
Speakers, Karon Cornell & Wendy Miller
Karon Cornell will be speaking about Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary and their Bat Night Fundraiser.
Wendy Miller will be speaking about the volunteer work she does at protected coastal areas.
Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary is an environmental education center and nature preserve owned and operated by Cal State Fullerton. Their mission is to promote environmental education in a way that provides a basis for understanding the value of our environment and the need to protect it.
The sanctuary consists of 12 acres of natural canyon habitat and includes a bird watching porch, a museum/education center, a pond and an amphitheater, several walking trails and a picnic area. They even have live animal ambassador to help share their message of preservation.
Tucker is open free of charge to the public, Tuesday through Sunday, 9am-4 PM. In addition to the many events held throughout the year, Tucker provides educational tours to more than 3,500 school children each year.
At each meeting, we have:
Happy Dollars – each member gets 30 seconds to tell us why they’re happy (not required, but optional).
Opportunity Drawing (bring extra money for tickets!) A chance to win some fun prizes.
Proceeds from happy dollars and the opportunity drawing help raise money for the WCOF Charities.
